Marysville
Due to the devastating bushfires of 7th February 2009, the town of Marysville was severely impacted with many buildings destroyed. The town has re-opened to the general public and the slow process of rebuilding has commenced.

Visit the Marysville region to be a positive part of its regeneration. Head outdoors for a scenic walk or relax with a glass of Victorian wine and a fabulous meal of fine seasonal produce.

Many businesses in the Marysville region are open and ready to welcome you. A brand new supermarket, post office, a range of accommodation and restaurants are alll operating and are welcoming visitors back to this beautiful region.

State & National Park walks are magnificent throughout this region.  Maps can be pick-up at the Visitor Information Centres @ Marysville & Healesville, a select few are in Reception.   Lake Mountain summer walking is spectacular and Cross Country skiing in winter is popular

LOCAL WINERIES
Wineries of the Yarra Valley are world renowned with over ninety cellar doors in the valley our picks along the Maroondah Hwy on the direct route to and from Woodlands are :
St Huberts, Domaine Chandon, Oakridge, Dominique Portet, Badgers Brook Estate, Rochford Wines, Innocent Bystander & Boat O'Craigo

A lesser known wine region on our doorstep is the Upper Goulbourn region with absolutely magnificent wines. Our picks are:
Buxton Ridge (closest cellar door to Woodlands), Snobs Creek, Rees Miller Estate, Cheviot Bridge, Growlers Gully, Kinlock Wines . Not all of these labels have a cellar door - ring to check opening times.

Villages of the area you must visit with some great SHOPPING,   Marysville - a beautiful mountain village with its famous lolly shop and produce store, which are currently being re established after the devastating bushfire of February 2009, - Healesville has produce shops such as Yarra Valley Pasta,  Kitchen and Butcher,  Healesville Harvest, Cheese Freaks and wine outlets , Innocent Bystander, Barrique Wine StoreYarra Glen - in the heart of the Yarra Valley wineries, great antique shops and the famous  Tea Leaves Store.   Warburton - via the Acheron Way from Narbethong is a quiet, attractive and rather charming old goldmining town of some 2000 people set in a fertile green valley by the upper Yarra River. The Upper Yarra Arts and Entertainment Centre with art exhibitions, live shows and cinematic screenings and the Yarra Valley Showcase featuring items by local woodworkers and craftspeople are highlights.

Marysville Community Market - 2nd Sunday of each month held in the car park of the Marysville Visitor Information Centre
Healesville Community Market - 1st Sunday of the month held in the car park in River Street, Healesville
Healesville Racecourse Market  - 3rd Sunday of the month held @ Healesville Racecourse (closed June, July and August)
Healesville Organic Farmers Market every Saturday morning

Visit the "Land of the giant's" at Camberville. Walk through the magnificent old growth Eucalypt forests, find waterfalls and lush glades of Tree Ferns and be amazed by the giant mountain Ash trees. This is the site of some of Victoria's tallest trees.
